California Consumer Privacy Act

Effective July 16, 2026

This California Consumer Privacy Act Notice (“CCPA Notice”) explains how remot3.it, Inc. (“Remote.It,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information of California residents in compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”). This CCPA Notice supplements our general Privacy Policy.

Your Privacy Rights

Under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents have the right to:

  • Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect;
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information;
  • Limit the use and disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information, where applicable;
  • Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any privacy rights under the CCPA/CPRA.

Remote.It does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

Remote.It does not collect or use Sensitive Personal Information for purposes requiring a consumer’s right to limit its use or disclosure under the CCPA/CPRA.

Categories of Personal Information Collected

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers (such as name, email address, account identifiers, company name, IP address, and online identifiers)
  • Personal information described in California Civil Code §1798.80(e)
  • Internet or other electronic network activity (such as interactions with our website and Services)
  • Approximate geolocation information derived from IP addresses or network information solely for security, fraud prevention, and service delivery purposes

We collect this information directly from you and through automated technologies such as cookies and server logs.

Sources of Personal Information

We collect personal information from the following sources:

  • Directly from you when you register an account, contact support, or use our Services;
  • Your devices when connecting through the Remote.It platform;
  • Automatically through cookies, server logs, and analytics tools;
  • Third-party payment processors during subscription transactions;
  • Publicly available information where reasonably necessary to verify identity, prevent fraud, maintain security, or comply with legal obligations.

Purposes for Collection and Use

We use personal information for the following business purposes:

  • Account creation and service provisioning;
  • Payment processing and accounting compliance;
  • Customer service and technical support;
  • Security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and protection of the Services;
  • Maintaining, securing, monitoring, and improving the Services;

Remote.It does not use personal information collected from customers to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill these purposes and in accordance with our data retention practices.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:

  • Service Providers and Contractors (including cloud hosting, infrastructure, monitoring, analytics, and communications providers)
  • Payment processors and financial institutions
  • Customer support platforms
  • Marketing and communications service providers
  • Legal, accounting, and professional advisors
  • Government entities where required by applicable law
  • Potential buyers or successor entities in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets

Remote.It does not sell personal information to data brokers or advertising networks.

Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including satisfying legal, accounting, tax, security, and reporting obligations.

Typical Retention Periods

Typical retention periods include:

  • Account credentials and profile information: Duration of the service relationship plus 90 days
  • Payment and billing information: 7 years to comply with tax and accounting requirements
  • Customer service communications: 3 years for support, quality assurance, and dispute resolution
  • Operational logs: Retained according to the applicable subscription plan, generally ranging from 7 days to 12 months, to support security, troubleshooting, auditing, and service performance
  • Marketing communication data: Until you withdraw consent, plus up to 30 days for processing
  • Legal compliance records: As required by applicable law

Automated Decision Making

Remote.It does not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning California residents.

Exercising Your Rights

You may submit a verifiable request to:

  • Access your personal information;
  • Delete your personal information;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.

Marketing communications may be discontinued at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in our emails or by contacting us.

Response Time

We will:

  • Acknowledge receipt of your request within 10 business days;
  • Respond within 30 calendar days, unless an extension is permitted by applicable law;
  • Request reasonable identity verification where necessary to protect your information.

If we are unable to fulfill your request, we will explain the basis for our decision as required by applicable law.

Verifying Your Request

To protect your privacy and security, we require sufficient information to verify your identity before processing certain requests. Verification may include information associated with your Remote.It account or other reasonable documentation. Information provided for verification purposes will be used solely for that purpose.

Shine the Light

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information regarding the disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Remote.It does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Changes to this Notice

We may update this Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our business, applicable law, or privacy practices. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice as required by applicable law.
